     Moses Parker was born circa March 1842 at North End, Findon, Sussex, England. Birth date is estimated from the baptismal record. No statutory birth registration has been found. He was the son of Allen Parker and Elizabeth Baker. Moses Parker was baptized on 27 March 1842 at Findon, Sussex, England. He was a Private 90th Light Infantry/ later, Sewing Machinist. He married Ann Gilroy, daughter of William Dick Gilray and Ann Montgomery, on 25 August 1871 at High Church, Glasgow, Scotland. Moses Parker died on 20 September 1911 at Bridgeton, Glasgow, Scotland. In his early days he was a soldier in the 90th Regiment of Foot. He enlisted on 4th April 1865 at Westminster. His regimental number was 1196. He joined the Reserve Force on 17th July 1871, and was finally discharged on 5th April 1875.
A family photograph of his six daughters is attached to the entry for Betsy (second from the right. Caroline is third from the right. The order for the others is not known, but included Emily who had migrated to Canada in 1906, and who may well have returned to Scotland for a holiday. I would like to acknowledge who gave me this photo. I have misplaced the record, but suspect it came from a member of the Smith family that Betsy married into.

     Alexander Davidson Blackwood was born on 19 February 1894 at Kilcreggan, Dunbarton, Scotland. He was the son of James Blackwood and Marjory Davidson. Alexander Davidson Blackwood married Catherine (Kit) McNair, daughter of George McNair and Mary Gilchrist, on 4 July 1924 at Toronto, Canada. Alexander Davidson Blackwood was an Accountant. He died on 4 January 1979 at Wayne, Michigan, USA, at age 84. He migrated from Glasgow on the ship "Athenia", Donaldson Line, on 30th May 1912 bound for Montreal & Quebec. Aged 18, occupation Clerk.
Crossed into Detroit on 31st March 1924, with last address given as Toronto. Nationality Canadian.
Returned to the USA after WW2 from Liverpool on the ship Franconia on 19th November 1954. His sister Helen was also on board.
His obituary in the Grosse Pointe News states that he was the retired president of the former Briggs Manufacturing Co, where he worked for 40 years. He was also past president of the National Association of Accountants.

Alexander McMurdie died on 29 July 1888 at Barjarg Village, Keir, Dumfries, Scotland.

     Agnes Kirk was born in 1821 at Urr, Kirkcudbright, Scotland. She was the daughter of George Kirk and Mary McKenzie. Agnes Kirk married Alexander McMurdie, son of John McMurdie and Agness Morton (Martin), on 4 May 1845 at Dunscore, Dumfries, Scotland. Agnes Kirk died before July 1888.

     James McMurdo was a Limestone Miner/Road Surfaceman. He was born on 8 July 1857 at Keir, Dumfries, Scotland. He was the son of Alexander McMurdie and Agnes Kirk. James McMurdo married Agnes Ross, daughter of James Ross and Jane Grierson, on 23 February 1883 at Crawick Mill, Sanquhar, Dumfries, Scotland. James McMurdo died on 26 March 1910 at Sanquhar, Dumfries, Scotland, at age 52.

     Margaret McNiven was born circa 1865. She was the daughter of James McNiven and Anne Cameron. Margaret McNiven married Joseph McMurdo, son of George McMurdo and Agnes Coupland, on 1 December 1887 at Blythswood, Glasgow, Scotland. Margaret McNiven died before 1900.

     Mary McMurdo married an unknown person . She was born on 18 November 1860 at Keir, Dumfries, Scotland. She was the daughter of Alexander McMurdie and Agnes Kirk.

     Janet Hill married Robert McMurdie, son of John McMurdie and Agness Morton (Martin). Janet Hill died before June 1889.

Janet Blackwood married David Watson Findlay, son of Alexander Findlay and Margaret Watson, on 12 January 1889 at Kelvin, Glasgow, Scotland.
