He enlisted with the 13th Reinforcements of the 5th Battalion, Australian Imperial Force on 20th July 1915. During service in France, as a Corporal, he was injured in both legs and retired to England.He was discharged on 20th June 1918. He was the son of William Blackwood and Louisa Jane Plummer. Victor Clair Blackwood was a Plumber. He died on 26 August 1932 at Mentone, Victoria, Australia. His death certificate from the Homoeopathic Hospital in Melbourne states that he was married but particulars unknown.
