He married Margaret Hamilton Barr, daughter of Daniel Robertson Barr and Isabella Erskine Hamilton, on 9 September 1921 at Paisley, Renfrew, Scotland. William Cunningham Blackwood died on 18 January 1941 at Paisley, Renfrew, Scotland, at age 46.

     Margaret Hamilton Barr was born circa 1891. She was the daughter of Daniel Robertson Barr and Isabella Erskine Hamilton. Margaret Hamilton Barr married William Cunningham Blackwood, son of John Blackwood Cunningham (Blackwood) and Mary Clark, on 9 September 1921 at Paisley, Renfrew, Scotland.
